Job Description

  

The Head of Silviculture’s main responsibilities are:

l  Lead Silvicultural operations in Guangxi. Responsible for the Silvicultural operations on all sites including ensuring the safe working conditions of all operations

l  Guarantee the quality of the Silviculture work, including meeting the MAI targets.

l   Lead Tree breeding, Nursery and Tissue Culture operations to ensure that we have adequate and superior planting material for silvicultural operations.

l  Develop the technology including mechanization of silvicultural operations together with our key contractors. Continually improve the efficiency of our operations.

l  Cost control, budgeting and monthly forecasting. Minimise expenditure whilst ensuring the maximum productivity of the operation.

l   Support and track Silvicultural dispute resolution as needed.

l   Responsible for short term plan implementation including ensuring delivery of seedling order.

l   Contractor management and development.

l   Allocate the team's resources and overtime to comply with Chinese labor laws.

l   Observe, report and if necessary take action in non-compliances against Corporate safety standards


Job Requirements

 Requirements

·         Bachelor degree, professional school in forestry

·         Strong management and leadership skills in forestry industry

·         Minimum of 10 year’s work experience in Silviculture operations in a large scale eucalypt plantation operation including tree breeding

·         Demonstrated ability at being a hands-on operator with exceptional team work and problem solving abilities

·         Proactive individual with a resilient personality.

·         Proven ability to adapt to challenging environments.

·         Human focus and interest in understanding Asian values

·         Preference will be given to candidates with Asian work experience (especially in China) or operational experience in a developing country. Chinese speaking is an advantage.
