Job Description

 Summary: Serve as a liaison between the company and the company’s suppliers, translating the needs of the company to the supplier.  Perform tasks that relate to the strategic management of supplier performance to include on-time delivery, quality and performance to contract requirements. Collaborate with Commodity Managers, Materials, Production and Engineering on supplier related projects and performance issues.  Provide support to internal customers (manufacturing, materials, engineering, marketing, finance, service, and others).

.Job Duties:

l  Develop and implement supplier performance strategies to manage suppliers to meet objectives of quality, on-time delivery, inventory initiatives, cost reduction, lead-time reduction, and service.

l  Work with new suppliers to ensure they meet performance objectives.

l  Manage source changes to ensure continuous flow of quality material and realization of cost reductions.

l  Represent Procurement in new product development teams to support successful new product launches, promoting Procurement initiatives, preferred suppliers and alternate sourcing.

l  Work with Commodity Managers in sourcing initiatives, and implementation of contract terms.

l  Ensure that the company reflects accurate part price and standard costs.  Ensure that invoices reflect accurate pricing and invoice errors are addressed and corrected in a timely manner.

 

 


Job Requirements

 l  8-10 years or experience in procurement, preferably in a strategic setting in a large  manufacturing organization preferred.

l  Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Production/Operations Management, Business or Engineering

l  Mechanical or electronic experience is preferred

l  Ability to coordinate efforts from multiple groups in the company to achieve objectives.

l  Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

l  Excellent organizational and problem solving skills.

l  Ability to handle multiple tasks, with awareness of deadlines.

l  Ability to identify process deficiencies, develop and implement improvements.

l  Good command of English
