The company is a global leading player in the industry of  baby care.....

Working Location: Zhujiang Delta (珠三角)


The Lab manager is responsible for developing and managing DJC Lab by following defined strategic plans and executions of activities to achieve the company and the laboratory goals. The operation is to support NPD, Supplier Quality Assurance, and Chemical/Regulatory Compliance for each of the company's global markets.


Main duties

· Establish and manage Lab team objectives, goals and KPI's and report progress periodically to the Lab Director, DJC.


· Managing lab operation to ensure lab tests integrity, efficiency and safety:


o Work with peer labs in divisions, and 3rd party labs to develop, align and standardize test methods and procedures; and organize periodical lab test calibration with peer labs in divisions and or 3rd party labs for test integrity;

o Is responsible for all test methods

o Ensure lab technicians and or testers are sufficiently trained on standard test methods and procedures, and are competent for integrity tests as assigned;

o Development, communication and execution of lab test standard operation procedures throughout test submission, test sample receiving/tagging, test scheduling, test performing, tested sample management, till lab test reporting and test data and test document management;

o Allocate manpower and manage/monitor lab test progress to ensure test performed as per set up schedule and result delivered as per committed timeline;

o Lab Equipment/Machines/Tools/Gauges sourcing, development and or fabrication;

o Lab Equipment/Machines/Tools/Gauges maintenance and calibration;

o Maintain lab 5S to ensure lab in a neat and clean status;

o Maintain and ensure lab work environment safety, and lab staff occupational safety and health, such as: make sure PPE are available and used as required.


· Ongoing developing of lab capacity, capability and safety to meet the increasing needs from Global Markets/Divisions; and prepare and maintain ISO 17025 accreditation;


· Process development and integration – Formalize and regularize lab operation processes and procedures in support internal test needs of the company's global markets.


· Performance management – Organize Lab team and individual goals and objectives, conduct periodic review and take corrective action to ensure fulfilment.


· Communication and internal conflict resolution – Maintain good communication and strong working relationship with peer product development, Quality Engineering and QA & Compliance team both internal of DJC and external of the commpany's global markets.


· Organization/Personnel development – Plan, organize and develop Lab resources needed to support current and future business needs. Identify training and development needs among the teams.


· Cost control – Ensure execution of budget control and continuously optimize cost controls.

Job Requirements

 Level knowledge & experience           

·         College or University degree or above, preferably in the field of mechanical, engineering, quality or similar;

·         At least 10 years’ quality lab experience in consumer products, preferably minimum 5 years with Juvenile products or related fields;

·         Minimum of 5 years lab manager or supervisor role, with solid experience of all aspect of lab operation management inclusive of lab facility/equipment development, maintenance and calibration, process development and implementation, lab staff training, development and management, lab test scheduling and management, and lab 5S/Safety assurance; 

·         Extensive  quality experience and competency in Quality Assurance or Quality Engineering field is also preferred;

·         Familiar with ISO-17025  standard;

·         Good understanding and preferable first-hand test experience of consumer products, preferable Juvenile products' common safety standards and its test methods, ( e.g., CPSIA, CCPSA, ASTM, EN, ISO and etc);

·         Experience with electronic/electrical, metal, plastics and or textile processes is preferred.
