Job Description:

 Process Focus:

  • Research and development of robust (repeatable & reproducible) manufacturing processes (mainly stamping and assembly) for innovative products while meeting quality, cost and time (QCT) deliverables.

·         Plans and initiates verification and validation activities together with Test Center. Consolidates and evaluates test results.

  • Creation of detail drawings, assembly drawings and production documents.

·         Supervises assembly of production machines/tools and ensures smooth hand-over to global production engineering.



  • Responsible to contribute to and report on relevant work packages (WP).
  • Leads and coordinates individual WPs by applying agile project management methodologies and utilisation of latest collaboration tools (Jira, Confluence, MS Teams)

·         Coordinates and collaborates with cross-functional project team, suppliers and customers.

  • Deploys state-of-the-art engineering (e.g. Design for Six Sigma) and technical risk management (e.g. FMEA) tools throughout the development
  • Defines technical requirements and tracks fulfillment. Lives ZeroDefect mentality by focusing on robust and reliable products and processes.
  • Runs feasibility studies and initiates related prototype manufacturing

·         Supports engineering change management (ECM) activities

  • Further tasks as instructed by line manager and/or Head R&D Project


Job Requirements:

  • Proven drive (energy, determination, motivation) and a can-do mentality
  • Precise working style with a high commitment to quality
  • Proven analytical and engineering expertise (stamping process, material science, tooling and equipment development)
  • Good interpersonal skills with ability to communicate and negotiate effectively across all levels and all functions of the organisation
  • Ability to explain complex technical issues/solutions to a non-technical audience
  • High integrity, fair, emotionally mature, self aware with a high degree of intellectual curiosity

  • 5+ years experience as R&D Engineer with focus on Design/Process, or equivalent role, preferably in automotive or in a high-mix/high-volume OEM environment
  • Higher degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Software Engineering (BSc, MSc) combined with relevant work experience.
  • Outstanding oral and written communication and presentation skills in English
  • Experienced in Quality Systems such as IATF 16949 and ISO 9001
  • Experienced in 3D-CAD software, preferably in SolidWorks
  • Hands on expeirence of stamping process is a plus
